![]() Walt Disney (1901 to 1966) was an American entrepreneur, voice actor and film producer. He left a legacy as a pioneer of the American animation industry and as the creator of Disneyland. He introduced a number of developments in the production of cartoons and created numerous icons in the world of animation, including Mickey Mouse (1928). Walt Disney holds the record for most Academy Awards earned by an individual, having won 22 Oscars from 59 nominations. In the 1950s, Disney expanded into the amusement park industry, and in 1955 he opened Disneyland. To fund the project, he diversified into television programs, such as Walt Disney's Disneyland and The Mickey Mouse Club. SPECIAL EDITION - The overall pen design of these precious resin writing instruments is inspired by the monorail system found at Disney World in Florida and the colors are inspired from Mickey Mouse in Steam Boat Willy (1929), the first animated cartoon with sound and Mickey Mouse*s debut. The Walt Disney signature is engraved on the cap top; the barrel shows a special molded pattern of a 3D Mickey Mouse. The clip shape is inspired by the shape of the chimney on the boat in Steam Boat Willy The nib depicts an early drawing of Mickey Mouse and is enhanced with a 14kt solid gold, rhodium-coated nib, available in M and F widths.
