HUMPHREY BOGART Limited Edition
“Here’s looking at you, kid.”
-Humphrey Bogart
A cultural icon and a legendary actor, Krone honors Humphrey Bogart with a writing instrument reflecting his raw masculinity and suave demeanor. The barrel is hand painted in vintage black and white. A combination of painting and silver leaf engraving separate two images of Bogart; one in his classic trench coat and the other a detailed profile. A three-dimensional engraving of ‘Rick’s Café Américain’ highlights the sterling silver band above the barrel. Alternating enamel bands of rich bordeaux and golden yellow decorate the sterling silver cap. A mother of pearl coin atop the cap is hand painted with an ornate Moroccan pattern.
An authenticated piece of Bogart’s famous trench coat is set into the base of the clip.
Available in a worldwide Limited Edition of 388 fountain pens and 38 rollerballs. The Fountain Pen is Piston Fill. The large 18 kt gold nib is available in medium, fine and broad widths.

Paul Gauguin, the Artist
In art, all who have done something other than their predecessors have merited the epithet of revolutionary; and it is they alone who are masters. –Paul Gauguin
Born in Paris, France in 1848, as a youth Gauguin developed a taste for the contemporary avant-garde movement of Impressionism and later studied under Camille Pissarro, struggling at first to master the techniques of painting and drawing. By 1880, though his work was included in Impressionist Exhibitions, his lack of notoriety in the art world, and family disapproval of his new profession, influenced his move to Martinique where his works soon departed from Impressionist technique, as he now worked with blocks of color in large, unmodulated planes, seeking a “primitive” expression of spiritual and emotional states in his work. In 1888, Gauguin coined the term “Synthetism” to describe this style, considered “Post-Impressionist , and symbolist. In time Gauguin became disgusted with Western conventions and accepted a grant to create art in Tahiti, but was disappointed to find that the French colonization had corrupted its authentic culture. This spawned a new era of art including depicting scenes of ocean iconography and idyllic landscapes. Eventually, Gauguin moved to the even more remote island of Hiva Oa in the Marquesas where he died in 1903. Gauguin’s immense legacy rests partly in his dramatic decision to reject the materialism of contemporary culture in favor of a more spiritual, unfettered lifestyle which inspired a whole generation of artists, including Edvard Munch, Henri Matisse, and Pablo Picasso and helped open the door to the development of 20th-century art.
Krone's tribute to Gauguin is available in a worldwide Limited Edition of 188 Fountain Pens and 18 Rollerballs, each painstakingly hand-painted over mother-of pearl. The piston-fill Fountain Pen is enhanced with an 18kt gold nib available in M, F or B width.

“The reason I win, is that I think five shots ahead.
-Willie Mosconi
The origin of pool developed out of a lawn game similar to croquet back in the 15th century. The game evolved and expanded over time to include pocketed tables and shot-calling for points, enjoying wide popularity in America in the 1920’s. The term billiards comes from the French words billart ( wooden stick ) and bille ( ball ).From 1878 until 1956, pool and billiard championship tournaments were held annually. Due to its popularity, throughout the Civil War, billiard results received wider coverage than war news. Krone celebrates the sport of billiards with its unique Limited Edition writing instrument. The cap and barrel of the pen mirror that of an actual wood inlayed pool stick. At the top of the cap is domed mother of pearl emulating the cue ball. Willie Mosconi one of the world’s most renowned pool players set a record by running 526 consecutive balls without a miss during a straight pool exhibition on March 19 & 20, 1954.
Available in a Worldwide edition of 18 fountain pens and 18 Rollerballs.. Each pen is accompanied by a hand signed authenticated Willie Mosconi pool ball. The Fountain pen is enhanced with an 18kt gold nib, available in M,F and B. Cartridge/converter fill.
