Stipula Francesco Baracca Limited edition 052/888 - Circa 1988
Francesco Baracca "The Hero of an Era", Limited Edition Fountain Pen for the 80th Anniversary of the Aviator´s Death.
This was designed by W. Boattini for Stipula. It commemorated Francesco Baracca who was a World War One flying ace who died in battle. (Born in 1888 and died at 30 in battle). It was produced in 1988 for the 100th anniversary of his death. Only 888 pieces were produced. The cap bears a sharp recesses image of a griffin and a horse rampant on either side of the cap. The horse rampant is identical to the Ferrari logo. The body contains Baracca's signature and the serial number of the pen. The pen comes in a yellow tube-shaped box draped with the Italian flag, a replica of those used by W.W.I. Aviators to deliver messages to ground troups
