The Year 2025 Montblanc Writers Edition Homage to Johann Wolfgang von Goethe "Limited Edition 1808" honors the legendary German polymath. Capped at 1,808 pieces (to mark the 1808 publication of Faust I), this luxury fountain pen features a rich burgundy-red lacquer barrel and gold embellishments that mirror Goethe's historic ceremonial sash. 
Its highly detailed design includes several nods to Goethe's multifaceted life:
  • The Cap: Shaped to resemble an antique chemist's jar, acknowledging his passion for natural science, while the gold-coated tracing is inspired by Rembrandt's etching for his Faust fragment.
  • The Clip: Designed in the shape of a leaf, referencing his extensive botanical studies.
  • The Nib: Crafted from solid 18k gold and engraved with a scene of Mephistopheles flying over a nocturnal city, based on an illustration by Eugène Delacroix.
