Nakaya Portable Writer Kuro Tamenuri Maki-e Bat Fountain Pen - Broad 14kt Gold Nib
Crafted through the maki-e technique atop a rich kuro tamenuri
base, the Nakaya Portable Writer Maki-e Bat blends deep
black-brown Urushi with warm, glowing undertones that peek
through along every edge. The bat—symbol of good fortune and
blessing in East Asian tradition is rendered with delicate layers
of gold and pigment of each stroke applied by hand to achieve
depth, movement, and subtle luminosity against the dark, polished
surface. Circa 2010.
